6 June 2017 USGIF M&S Working Group, San Antonio

On 6 June 2017, the USGIF M&S Working Group hosted a joint meeting with OGC and SISO on 3D Geospatial M&S as part of the GEOINT 2017 conference event held in San Antonio, Texas. The WG meeting included an update on the work of the Project, with specific focus on development of a White Paper to capture the vision and way forward for this effort. As part of the White Paper discussion, Robin Parish (Envitia) offered to update the Open Systems Architecture graphic for the next revision of the white paper. Additionally, SISO is working to provide input to the list of relevant standards to be identified within the context of the architecture. This meeting also featured an Army perspective presentation from Julio Delacruz, and a presentation emerging 3D technology from Tom Brown of Bentley Systems. Participants were encouraged to review the draft White Paper and draft roadmap and provide comments to Project points of contact by the end of June. Once comments are addressed, a revised White Paper will be posted to the Wiki for use in Project outreach and resource development.
