MetOcean plugfest 2016

Findings

This was a follow-up from 2016 - see last year's page for more information.
  • WMS
    • Many access problems from last year, regarding https, were addressed
    • KNMI has the first implementation of the Ensemble BP
    • Naming of layers in some cases can still be improved
    • ecCharts uses redirects for getMap requests, which causes problems (http response 302) for some clients
    • Shift in tiles?
    • We seen improvements in getCapbility loading times (e.g. ecCharts)
  • WCS 2.0
    • Clients?
    • Definition of vertical references not clear from 2.0 standard (or WMS MetOcean BP)
    • Differences in how Compound CRS are defined, because clear definition and examples are missing
