Logistic information

In order to make this a fruitful and productive experience, we suggest the following Ways of Working during this ONLINE CoPs Forum #5:

We will:
  • Use the time otherwise spent travelling for working online together instead
  • Work in short sprints of 1:30h with concrete objectives (decided a-priori or at the beginning of the sprint).
  • Separate sprints with opportunities to work alone on some aspects of the discussions and obligation to report progress back in the reporting back session.
  • During sprints or work-alone sessions, try to avoid emails as much as possible for a fruitful meeting. A GoToMeeting will be open for sporadic chat or verbal communications.
  • Include some long breaks to deal with emails or inevitable interruptions (or to eat smile ). We have to be realistic. People also have other obligations.
  • Spread the event over the three days using only mornings and part of the afternoons to allow people to do other things in between.
Participants are advised to:
  • Look for a place that is not your own office. In the office, interruptions are common and you "fall-for-them". A meeting room or a video room could be ideal; working from home may also be a good option.
  • Be active and join the discussions, provide comments.
  • Use your video camera - this can help in the discussion.
